Left Hand Menu is gone (Characters, Voices and voice controls)

I opened a RFT Text file and the left hand menu disappeared. I have rebooted, started from scratch and it doesn't return.

Is there another way to have it on screen?

Voice controls don't seem to have any effect on the scripts.

Left Hand Menu

Apple's Text Editor seems to be what you are using in your program. I'm not sure what I did but the Left Hand Menu on the Main Screen disappeared.

If fiddled around and noticed an "I" bar showed up on the left hand margin of the text page. I resized the window down and was able to move the "I" bar to the right while holding down the mouse button and voo-la! It re-appeared.

Maybe someone else might find this helpful, maybe!

Yes, if the sidebar is accidentally hidden, you can show it again by dragging rightwards from the left edge of the window, or double-clicking the left edge of the window.

Improving voice quality

Is there any way to improve the voice quality of Narrator voices so they don't sound so mechanical? b garrett meadows

Some synthesized voices are better than others. I like Alex, Victoria, and a few others. Cepstral's are also of high quality. You can increase the inflection slider in Narrator to add more "texture" to the voices, too.
