Upload to Website Sheet
This is the Upload to Website sheet, which gathers the information needed to upload the generated HTML directly to your web server. It is accessed via the File menu or the Upload toolbar button in the Editor window.
Enter all of the requested information, using the same details as you would to upload your web pages in an FTP application. These settings are remembered separately for each bookmark:
- Host: Enter the domain name of your site, as accessed via FTP; typically the normal URL without the "www.", though may be different.
- Username: Enter the username to log on to your web server.
- Password: Enter the appropriate password to log on to your web server. It is not displayed, and is stored encrypted.
- Path: Enter the directory path of where the page should be uploaded to. Make sure you include all necessary directories, e.g. most servers start with a "public_html" directory. Use care not to have the page output over the top of your existing pages, unless intended.
- Filename: Enter the name to use for the output page.
- Extension: Enter the filename extension to use; typically "html", but some other variations can be acceptable.
When all details have been correctly entered, click Upload to proceed. A progress window is displayed while the file (and any needed interim directories) are uploaded; you can continue using Macfilink while it is uploading if you wish (just don't quit till it's done).
Simple as that!
